Installed from MS Store

I’ve had this app installed for a few years now and have used it from time to time without any issues on both my pc and my laptop.

Attempted to run the app several times today on my laptop (pc currently on the fritz) and it’s crashed despite doing a repair, doing a reset from the app’s Windows | Installed Apps | Lunacy panel, and finally doing a reinstall.

I have the latest crash dump in a zip file if anyone from Lunacy has the time to look into it.

Oh, and just so you know, I’m using the standalone app.

Just a quick update on this.

So apparently there are 2 different versions(?) of the standalone app that can be installed on Windows. The first is installable from the MS Store, and the 2nd is a direct download of the x64 setup.exe.

On a lark, I uninstalled the app from the MS store and downloaded the 2nd one.

I ran the newly-installed Lunacy app and it ran without a hitch.

Isn’t the app from the MS store the same as the direct download? I find that a bit weird.

They aren’t really two different versions. The version from the Microsoft Store doesn’t currently support beta updates, which makes it harder to quickly apply fixes. That’s why we generally recommend the Standalone version, as it allows for faster updates and bug fixes.

Ahh…happy puppy here. Thanks for clarifying the difference between both. I’m sticking with the direct download from now on. :grin:
